Kamuzu Palace Office Complex

A 6 storey office complex design competition entry for Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe. Commission to decant work space at the palace into an official building. The building blends with the existing palace building with a modern reinterpretation of the architecture. The materiality is also a blend of modern and traditional materials with rammed earth features on an off shutter concrete backdrop. Vertical sun screen are slanted to mimic a reed fence as would be in traditional Vernacular architecture.
